Conversation in the taxi on the way home:

Me: "So how has today been for you?"
Taximan: "Okay, other than the heat."
Me: "Yes, it sure has been hot today."
Taximan: "Normally it doesn't get this hot until March."
In my head: "March? Back home it doesn't get this hot until August!"

It's going to be a loooooong summer.

I'm so happy to be healthy! Last week I was sick for 5 days. From Friday to Sunday I was in bed with a fever and other stuff I won't mention. I felt better Sunday night and then relapsed Monday afternoon and ended up very weak and largely bedridden until Thursday. This week I'm back to eating normally and having energy and it is FANTASTIC! There's nothing like illness to remind you how wonderful it is to be healthy.

Also, I must say that my wife is amazing. She washed my clothes, cleaned out my sick bucket, made me rehydration drink, went out and bought a chicken and made chicken noodle soup, thought up games to play as I lay in bed, and just did a fantastic job of looking after me the whole time I needed it. What a wonderful woman!
